What Does Slab Mean?

A slab is a cannabis slang term that is used to refer to a large piece of concentrate. It can be an entire cookie sheet of concentrate or just a smaller sized slab. The slab sized piece of concentrate is broken into small dabs to be used in a dab rig.

Most concentrate users prefer their cannabis concentrate product to be in a usable slab form and not a clump or glob. The slab is neat and tidy. It allows small pieces to be broken off for use in the dab rig. Many people opt to transform their shatter and other cannabis products into usable slabs.

The process of creating a slab of concentrate is known as slabbing out. To create a slab, the concentrate is laid onto a piece of parchment paper. The parchment paper is then heated slowly so that the concentrate melts into a slab pizza shape on the paper’s surface.

Great care must be taken not to overheat the concentrate and burn away all of its terpenes when creating the slab. The warmed concentrate is then allowed to cool to room temperature in its newly created slab pizza form.
